The investigation, which commenced on July 17 following a reported dwelling shooting on McDaniel St. SW, led officers to identify Rodney Grant, 35, as a person of interest. Grant, described by authorities as a known gang member with active warrants, was apprehended after being called out of an apartment.
Grant faced charges including aggravated assault and gang-related offenses. During the same operation, two more individuals, identified as Leglance Mallory, 21, and Jarquez Kelley, 20, were also taken into custody. Both had outstanding warrants for a range of offenses, including aggravated assault, property damage, and firearm possession. Following these arrests, a search by Atlanta police resulted in the recovery of five firearms.
