In November 2024, Enzo Conticello, also known as Hakim Boudjenoune, swiped a handbag containing a £2.1 million Fabergé egg and watch from Rosie Dawson, director of premium brands at Craft Irish Whiskey, in Soho, London. The stolen items were part of a collection valued at up to $3 million. Conticello also took the victim's laptop and credit cards, which he used for small purchases.
Conticello pleaded guilty to theft and fraud by misrepresentation and was sentenced to two years and three months in prison in February 2025. His defense claimed he was a drug addict at the time and gave the bag away without knowing its value. The judge acknowledged the opportunistic nature of the theft and the unexpected value of the stolen items.
The Fabergé egg and watch, specially created for Craft Irish Whiskey's 'The Emerald Isle' collection, remain missing. The Metropolitan Police are continuing their investigation and appealing for any information regarding their whereabouts. Conticello claimed he gave the items away and expressed remorse for his actions.
