Hekmat Galmne, 27, has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for a daylight drive-by shooting. The incident occurred on the A41 in Watford in July 2024, when an e-bike rider was shot. The victim, however, later recovered fully from the attack.
Galmne, from Pinner in London, was convicted of attempted murder and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life. This sentencing follows a series of violent incidents, including stabbings, that affected Watford throughout the summer of 2024. The shooting was linked to a disturbance that took place two hours earlier on Meriden Way.
The black BMW from which the shot was fired was identified, and the victim was swiftly taken to the hospital. Authorities noted the extreme danger posed by the act, emphasizing the lucky absence of fatalities or public injuries.
