- Specialists are based in the police control room seven nights a week.
- New Home Office funding enables enhanced victim assistance.

Domestic abuse victims in Northamptonshire now have access to round-the-clock support, seven nights a week. This expansion follows the successful trial of a programme that embeds specialist domestic abuse workers directly within the police control room.
These dedicated specialists, part of Voice Northants, collaborate closely with 999 operators and police officers. Their role involves assessing risks, offering expert advice to law enforcement, and providing crucial support to victims from the very first moment they reach out for help.
The enhanced service has been made possible through new funding from the Home Office. The initiative is designed to ensure victims receive more rapid assistance. It also equips police officers with essential expert guidance during domestic abuse incidents, improving the overall frontline response.
