A 19-year-old man has died following a violent assault that occurred during a soccer game in west Phoenix earlier this month. Tumusifu Bazirake was fatally injured on August 6th when a fight erupted while he was playing.
Several individuals reportedly attacked Bazirake before fleeing the area. Emergency services found him unresponsive in a field near 43rd Avenue and Hubble Street. He was transported to a hospital in extremely critical condition and subsequently died from his injuries on August 13th.
The Phoenix Police Department is treating the death as a homicide. The suspects involved in the assault remain unidentified and at large. Authorities are urging anyone with information pertinent to the case to contact Silent Witness.
