In the first quarter from April to June 2025, the government had already provided ₹1,062.15 crore to 35.78 lakh beneficiaries under this scheme. The latest disbursement in the first week of August 2025 is aimed at ensuring that the women can celebrate the upcoming festivals with their families with full enthusiasm.
A government spokesperson stated that this initiative is a crucial step to provide financial assistance to the destitute women before the festivals, allowing them to celebrate with their loved ones.
