Currently, four 8-car and three 16-car Vande Bharat trains are running on these routes.
As per the plan, the 16-car Vande Bharat trains will be upgraded to 20-car models, while the 8-car trains will be increased to 16-car. Additionally, the released trains from these upgrades will be introduced on some new routes to expand the Vande Bharat network.
The Railway Board officials have stated that the augmentation is based on the projected occupancy for the financial year 2025-26 and the feasibility of the upgrades. This move aims to enhance the passenger experience and cater to the growing demand for the premium Vande Bharat train services across the country.
