On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released approximately ₹20,500 crore to around 97 million eligible farmers across India under the 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme. This flagship welfare program, launched by the Indian government in 2019, aims to provide financial support to farmers nationwide.
In Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Subansiri district, a total of 4,161 farmers were among the beneficiaries of the latest PM-KISAN payout. The live-streaming of the event was organized at Abotani Hall in Hapoli, where 450 local beneficiaries gathered to receive their funds. Local officials, including the Deputy Commissioner, Zilla Parishad Chairperson, and District Agriculture Officer, were present at the program.
The PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible landholding farmer families with ₹6,000 annually, disbursed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each, directly into their bank accounts. This initiative is intended to ensure a steady income for farmers and help them meet their agricultural and household needs.
