On August 22, 2025, Suneetha Reddy, a member of the promoter group of Apollo Hospitals Enterprises, announced plans to sell 1.8 million shares, or 1.25% of the company's equity, for a total of ₹1,394.5 crore. The shares will be offered through a block deal on Friday, with a floor price of ₹7,747 per share, representing a 2.3% discount to the previous day's closing price.
In a separate development, healthcare company Abbott has launched its FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor device in India. The device offers automatic glucose readings every minute on a compatible smartphone, aiming to help diabetic patients better manage their condition. Patients can now monitor their glucose levels without having to manually scan, and receive alerts when levels are low or high.
Additionally, Piramal Pharma Solutions, a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), has opened a dedicated oral solid dosage (OSD) form suite at its facility in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, USA. This expansion will support the drug development efforts of NewAmsterdam Pharma Company, a client of Piramal, and help the company deliver its investigational drug therapy to patients if approved.
