Volvo's 9600 Coach: Seater & Sleeper Combined

Volvo Buses India has expanded its 9600 coach line with an integrated seater-sleeper variant, designed for India's long-distance travel demands. Showcased at Prawaas 5.0 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, this factory-built solution aims to enhance premium passenger transport. The 15-metre multi-axle coach is powered by a VEDX8 diesel engine with an I-Shift automated transmission.

The versatile cabin accommodates 51 passengers, featuring 24 upper sleeper berths, three rear lower berths, and 27 premium lower-deck seats. This mixed layout suits routes with varying passenger needs. For extended journeys, the coach includes a kitchenette, an onboard toilet, and 6 cubic metres of under-floor luggage space.

Passenger comfort is enhanced with mood lighting, privacy partitions, charging points, and entertainment integration. Safety is prioritized through electronic camera monitor mirrors, a 360-degree camera system, tyre pressure monitoring, and a driver state monitoring system with an alcohol interlock module. Connected telematics provide fleet operators with real-time data on location, speed, and diagnostics.
