Vodafone Idea Narrows Losses, Expands 5G Footprint Amid Telecom Turmoil

In the latest financial quarter, Vodafone Idea, the struggling telecom giant, has shown signs of progress. The company narrowed its consolidated net loss year-on-year in the September quarter of 2025 to ₹5,524 crore, down from ₹7,176 crore in the same period a year earlier.
Vodafone Idea's revenue from operations also saw a 2.4% increase, rising to ₹11,194 crore in the quarter compared to ₹10,932 crore in the year-ago period. The company's Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) grew by 8.7% year-on-year to ₹180.
Furthermore, Vodafone Idea reported a consolidated Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) of ₹4,685 crore in Q2 FY26, up from ₹4,550 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The EBITDA margin also improved, reaching 41.9% compared to 41.6% a year ago.
Despite the industry's ongoing challenges, Vodafone Idea has made strides in expanding its 4G/5G subscriber base, which now stands at 127.8 million, up from 125.9 million in the same quarter last year. The company has also completed the 5G rollout in all 17 circles where it holds 5G spectrum, indicating its commitment to staying competitive in the evolving telecom landscape.
