Aeromexico has maintained its position as the world's most on-time global airline, according to Cirium's 2025 On-Time Performance Review. The Mexican carrier achieved a remarkable 90.02% on-time performance across nearly 189,000 flights in 2025, marking its second consecutive year holding the top global spot.
Virgin Atlantic was honored with the newly introduced 'Most Improved' award, demonstrating the largest year-over-year operational performance gain among major carriers. The UK-based airline boosted its on-time performance from 74.01% in 2024 to 83.45% in 2025, a notable increase of 9.44 percentage points.
The review also recognized leading airports for punctuality. Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport led the large airport category, while Panama's Tocumen International Airport topped the medium category, and Ecuador's Guayaquil José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport claimed the small airport title. Qatar Airways received the Airline Platinum Award for overall operational excellence.
