18 Oct
Summary
- Sacred triangle tourism jumped 60% in two years.
- Combined 1.84 crore visits recorded in 2025.
- Rs 208 crore development project enhances facilities.
The sacred triangle of Vindhyachal, encompassing the Vindhyavasini, Kali Khoh, and Ashtabhuja temples, has experienced a remarkable surge in tourism. Visits to these three revered sites collectively rose by nearly 60% from approximately 1.15 crore in 2023 to about 1.84 crore in 2025. This growth highlights the expanding Uttar Pradesh Shakti Peeth Circuit and the traditional Trikon Parikrama.
Goddess Vindhyavasini remains the primary attraction, with visits increasing from 73 lakh in 2023 to approximately 1.20 crore in 2025. The associated temples, Kali Khoh and Ashtabhuja, also saw a combined increase of over 51% in visits during the same period. These figures underscore the broader impact of development initiatives across Vindhyachal.
Uttar Pradesh is developing Vindhyachal into a comprehensive Shakti destination, investing approximately Rs 208.09 crore in infrastructure. This includes upgrades to the parikrama route, surrounding streets, and facilities near the principal temple precinct, as well as development in the Ashtabhuja and Kali Khoh areas. A Rs 35.50 crore project specifically for Maa Kali Khoh is also underway.
Integrated tourism packages, such as UPSTDC's Varanasi-Vindhyachal-Varanasi itinerary, are complementing these developments. These packages aim to connect the spiritual traditions of Vindhyachal with other major pilgrimage sites like Kashi and Prayagraj, drawing devotees from across India and abroad to experience Uttar Pradesh's rich heritage of Shakti worship.
