Maharashtra's Vidarbha region is poised for substantial economic expansion following the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) totaling over Rs 10,880 crore. These agreements target key sectors including solar energy, healthcare, and manufacturing, signalling a robust investment climate.
The 'Advantage Vidarbha - Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav 2026' saw the groundbreaking of several projects. A significant portion of the investment, Rs 10,080 crore, will be utilized by Galaxy Solar Energy to establish an integrated solar and battery energy storage system manufacturing plant in Nagpur, slated for completion in phases by 2036.
Maha-Metro has partnered with Quality CARE India Ltd (QCIL Care Group) for a new multi-speciality hospital in Nagpur, featuring over 350 beds. This public-private venture is expected to attract Rs 600 crore in investment and generate approximately 1,500 to 1,800 direct jobs. Another MoU with GR Infraprojects will see a Rs 200 crore tower manufacturing plant established in Nagpur.
