Trucking Giant Crumbles Under $3.1M Lawsuit
11 Jul
Summary
- Victory Freight Corp. filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on July 2.
- A $3.1 million lawsuit related to a highway crash is cited.
- Two affiliated trucking businesses also filed for bankruptcy.

Victory Freight Corp., a Southern California trucking company, initiated Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings on July 2, citing a substantial multimillion-dollar claim in a pending legal case. The business reported liabilities of $3.2 million, largely attributed to this lawsuit. Unsecured creditor Raul Contreras has lodged a claim for nearly $3.1 million, though the company disputes this amount. The claim originates from an August 8, 2024, highway collision in Fontana, California, where a commercial truck allegedly collided with Contreras's vehicle, causing extensive damage and serious injuries. Victory Freight Corp. denies the allegations of negligence in the ongoing San Bernardino Superior Court case, which states the company employed the driver and owned the truck involved. The carrier listed fewer than $1 in assets. Concurrently, two affiliated trucking entities, Isaiah Transportation and Trans Bay Logistics, are also undergoing Chapter 7 bankruptcies. Isaiah Transportation filed in May, reporting over $769,000 in liabilities, while Trans Bay Logistics filed in June, listing nearly $3.4 million in liabilities and also referencing the disputed Contreras claim. These bankruptcy filings aim to liquidate assets to satisfy unsecured creditors.
