Vegan Giant Faces Shock Job Cuts
22 Jan
Summary
- The Vegan Food Group reportedly cut 30 jobs at its York head office.
- An additional 32 roles were cut from Clive's Purely Plants in Dartmouth.
- Major brands from the company were removed from supermarket shelves.

The Vegan Food Group (VFG) is reportedly experiencing substantial job losses and a reduction in its supermarket presence. Approximately 30 positions have been eliminated from VFG's head office in York. Additionally, the Clive's Purely Plants facility in Dartmouth has seen 32 staff members let go.
Industry press indicates that core brands of the company are no longer available on supermarket shelves. While VFG has not officially confirmed the redundancies, a factory manager described the situation as a 'massive shock.' These events are occurring during Veganuary, an initiative encouraging people to adopt a vegan diet throughout January.
Despite these challenges, the global vegan food market is projected for significant growth, with an estimated worth of £27bn and predictions to reach £76bn by 2032. The Asian Pacific region currently dominates this market. In the UK, plant-based alternatives continue to see strong consumer interest.
