Van Wert is embracing a major economic transformation with the upcoming QTS Data Centers campus. This expansive project, spanning 902 acres, represents a $10 billion investment in the community.
The development is projected to generate $200 million in tax revenue over two decades. Furthermore, it will create approximately 1,500 temporary construction jobs and 200 permanent positions once operational, significantly boosting local employment.
QTS has committed to fully funding necessary energy infrastructure modernization for the facility. The company will also implement a closed-loop cooling system, minimizing water consumption, with components sourced from Van Wert-based Danfoss.
Community engagement is a key aspect of the project. QTS plans to foster partnerships in education and workforce development, including an initial $100,000 investment in Vantage Career Center for tech training.
Residents can learn more about the data center at a community event on Thursday, June 11, at Vantage Career Center. An informational website is also available.
