Uttar Pradesh is set to enhance its tourism appeal with the construction of 11 new Rahi Tourist Lodges, alongside the comprehensive renovation and upgrading of existing facilities. This initiative by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) is being executed under a Public Private Partnership model.
The new lodges will be established in several key locations, including Mathura's Gokulgaon, Agra's Bateshwar, and near natural attractions like Patna Bird Sanctuary in Etah. The UPSTDC aims to provide modern amenities to tourists, thereby strengthening tourism infrastructure.
To accommodate the growing number of visitors, particularly during major events such as Mahakumbh and Magh Mela in Prayagraj, UPSTDC has already expanded accommodation capacity at Hotel Rahi Triveni Darshan. Renovations and interior decoration have also been completed at other UPSTDC hotels in Prayagraj and Sarnath, Varanasi.
