14 Mar
Summary
- Unilever's chief could earn up to £20.5 million.
- New pay structure increases long-term share awards significantly.
- CEO Fernando Fernandez earned £4.9 million in the past year.

Fernando Fernandez, the chief executive of Unilever, could receive a remuneration package as high as £20.5 million. This potential payout is part of a revised compensation structure announced by the consumer goods company.
Under the new package, Fernandez's basic salary will be reduced. However, the maximum available long-term share awards will increase substantially, potentially reaching 700% of his salary.
Fernandez, who transitioned to CEO from finance director last March, was compensated £4.9 million for the entirety of 2025. This included £1.8 million in salary and benefits, alongside £3.1 million in bonuses.
Unilever decided to reassess its pay policies a year earlier than planned. The company indicated this strategic review aims to 'set the organisation up for success'.
