Uber is making a substantial commitment to India with plans to establish two major technology centers in Bengaluru and Hyderabad by the close of 2027. The Bengaluru hub is projected to be one of Uber's largest tech campuses globally outside the US, designed for 5,000 employees. The Hyderabad center will house 4,600 employees. These announcements were made by CEO Dara Khosrowshahi during his recent visit to India, which also included a meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Further solidifying its presence, Uber has partnered with the Adani Group to launch its first data center in India later this year, supporting global tech operations. The company is also prioritizing the two-wheeler market, which has become a key and fast-growing segment for Uber India, a significant shift from previous years. Despite concerns about fuel prices, Uber anticipates minimal impact on its Indian operations.
