Summary
- Central bank injected over 30 billion dirhams into the banking system.
- A Contingent Liquidity Insurance Facility was utilized by commercial lenders.
- The UAE central bank introduced a support package in March to boost liquidity.

The Central Bank of the UAE injected more than 30 billion dirhams, equivalent to $8.2 billion, into the nation's banking system. This significant liquidity boost is intended to safeguard against potential repercussions from regional conflicts.
Commercial lenders drew upon a Contingent Liquidity Insurance Facility, known as CLIF, which was activated to provide necessary support. This facility, established in 2022, allows banks to access central bank reserves using various collateral for periods of one month or longer.
Earlier in March, the central bank had already implemented a support package designed to enhance liquidity and lending capabilities. Analysts indicate that UAE banking liquidity remains robust, supported by the country's substantial foreign reserves and sovereign wealth funds.
