Summary

- Franchisees formed Summit Acquisitions to save the chain from bankruptcy.
- InnJoy Hospitality will help expand Twin Peaks into growing South Texas markets.

Dallas-based Twin Peaks Restaurants is poised for significant expansion into South Texas, with plans to open new locations in Laredo, Brownsville, and South Padre Island. This strategic move was enabled by a group of franchisees who banded together to form Summit Acquisitions.
Summit Acquisitions assumed a key advisory role, effectively separating Twin Peaks from its former parent company, FAT Brands, which underwent a $1.5 billion bankruptcy restructuring on June 15. This separation allows Twin Peaks to pursue its expansion vision independently.
The brand is collaborating with InnJoy Hospitality, a Houston-based hospitality group, to develop these new restaurants. This partnership aims to leverage the growth in South Texas's tourist-friendly areas. Twin Peaks currently operates one location in McAllen, with the next closest being over 150 miles away in Corpus Christi.
