Summary
- Triumph Speed T4 350cc test mule seen on Indian roads.
- New 350cc engine aims to reduce tax burden and improve pricing.
- Launch of 350cc models expected by April 2026 in India.

A test mule for a new 350 cc variant of the Triumph Speed T4 has been observed on Indian roads, indicating a significant mechanical update for the Indian market. The prototype closely resembles the current Speed T4, suggesting that cosmetic changes are minimal. This focus on mechanical revision is driven by the introduction of a 350 cc engine to capitalize on a reduced Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate.
The new 350 cc engine is designed to bring Triumph models below the 400 cc tax bracket, lowering the effective GST from 40% to 18%. This strategic pricing adjustment is intended to make Triumph's offerings more competitive against key rivals, such as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Honda CB350 RS.
Triumph and Bajaj are anticipated to introduce this new 350 cc range, possibly including models like the Speed 350 and Scrambler 350 X, in India by April 2026. The Speed T4-based 350 is projected to be priced approximately Rs 20,000-Rs 25,000 lower than its 400 cc counterparts, further enhancing its market appeal. With test vehicles already on public roads, the official debut of Triumph's 350 cc lineup appears imminent.
