15 May
Summary
- A national class action lawsuit alleges Ticketmaster/Live Nation charged inflated ticket fees.
- Those who purchased concert tickets since 2010 may be eligible for compensation.
- The deadline to opt out of the class action is July 6, 2026.

A federal court in California has authorized a national class action lawsuit, "Popp v. Live Nation," against Ticketmaster and Live Nation. The suit alleges that the companies charged inflated fees on concert tickets bought since 2010, though the companies deny any wrongdoing. Many consumers who purchased tickets during this period have received official notices about the case.
This legal pressure follows a recent federal jury finding that Live Nation and Ticketmaster illegally operated a monopoly, potentially driving up prices and fees. Consumers who bought tickets for concerts at "major venues," as defined by Pollstar industry publication since 2010, may qualify. Many of these venues are located in or around New York, including Madison Square Garden and MetLife Stadium.
The potential payout amount for class members is currently unclear, as the case has not yet been resolved. The trial is scheduled for July 6, 2027. To remain eligible for any potential settlement or payout, class members do not need to take any action. However, individuals who wish to pursue their own legal action must opt out by submitting a written request postmarked no later than July 6, 2026.
