Thorogood, a significant American work boot manufacturer, has embarked on an expansion with the opening of a new $14.5 million facility and flagship store in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This marks the brand's inaugural retail location, allowing customers to witness the boot-making process directly. The 70,000-square-foot facility is managed by Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Thorogood's parent firm.
Weinbrenner operates three manufacturing sites in Wisconsin and has invested in significant expansions there since 2022. The new facility replaces Weinbrenner's historic Third Street building. Designed for efficiency and safety, its construction heavily involved union labor, reflecting Weinbrenner's long-standing unionized workforce.
Jeff Burns, president of Weinbrenner, emphasized the company's deep roots in Wisconsin. He stated that the new facility visually represents their commitment to producing quality boots by American workers in Wisconsin, allowing the public to see this dedication firsthand.
