4 Dec
Summary
- Texas LNG finalized a 20-year agreement with Macquarie Energy.
- The deal is for 500,000 tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas.
- This agreement advances the Texas LNG export terminal project.

Texas LNG, a subsidiary of Glenfarne Energy Transition, has solidified a 20-year sales and purchase agreement with Macquarie Energy, a unit of Macquarie Group. This definitive contract, covering 500,000 tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas, transforms a prior non-binding heads of agreement.
The agreement significantly bolsters the Texas LNG project, a planned four million tonnes per annum export terminal at the Port of Brownsville in Texas. Kiewit has been selected for final engineering design and construction.
Glenfarne highlights the terminal's 'Green by Design' approach, aiming to reduce operational carbon dioxide emissions. This deal, following a similar September contract with Gunvor Singapore, brings Texas LNG closer to a final investment decision.
