Tejas Networks announced a major achievement on March 30, 2026, having cumulatively shipped more than 17,000 IP/MPLS routers for BharatNet Phase III. These routers are crucial for expanding high-speed broadband connectivity in rural India.
The company's TJ1400 routers are currently operational in nine Indian states and five union territories, carrying live traffic. Tejas Networks is contracted to supply approximately 60,000 of these routers, which will be installed in over 55,000 Gram Panchayats and 2,000 Blocks across the country.
These next-generation routers are designed for terabit-scale IP/MPLS networks, featuring a Software-defined Hardware™ architecture for flexibility and scalability. Tejas Networks, a part of the Tata Group, has a global presence, supplying networking products to over 75 countries.
This deployment represents a significant stride in the Government of India's digital empowerment initiative. The successful delivery underscores Tejas Networks' capability in providing critical infrastructure for national connectivity programs.
