Tata Small Cap Fund Reopens for Lumpsum Investments
7 Apr
Summary
- Tata Small Cap Fund will resume all new inflows starting April 6, 2026.
- Lumpsum subscriptions were halted in June 2023 due to liquidity concerns.
- Fund management sees current market corrections as a good entry point.

Effective April 6, 2026, Tata Mutual Fund will resume accepting all new inflows for its Tata Small Cap Fund. This includes both lumpsum and switch-in applications. The fund had previously suspended lumpsum subscriptions in June 2023 to manage liquidity and deployment within the volatile small-cap segment.
Anand Vardarajan, Chief Business Officer at Tata Asset Management, stated that the decision to reopen is driven by confidence in current deployment opportunities and the identification of businesses with strong fundamentals. He noted that recent market corrections have created favorable entry points for long-term investment.
The correction in small-cap stock prices has led to more reasonable valuations, improving the availability of fundamentally sound companies. This aligns with the fund's bottom-up investment approach, making it an opportune time for investors with a long-term horizon to participate. All other terms and risk parameters for the scheme remain unchanged.
