Tata Motors Suffers Rs 3,483 Cr Loss Amid Cyber Woes
5 Feb
Summary
- Tata Motors reported a Rs 3,483 crore net loss for Q3 FY26.
- A cyber incident at Jaguar Land Rover significantly impacted results.
- Consolidated revenue dropped to Rs 70,108 crore from Rs 94,472 crore.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles incurred a consolidated net loss of Rs 3,483 crore for the third quarter of the 2025 fiscal year, which concluded on December 31, 2025. This financial performance contrasts sharply with the Rs 5,485 crore net profit recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year. The significant impact of a cyber incident at its British subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover, was a primary factor contributing to this loss.
Consolidated total revenue from operations during the quarter was Rs 70,108 crore, a notable decrease from Rs 94,472 crore reported in the year-ago period. Total expenses for the quarter amounted to Rs 74,880 crore, down from Rs 89,698 crore in the corresponding period last year. The company also recorded exceptional items totaling Rs 1,600 crore for the third quarter, including provisions for the JLR cyber incident and new labour codes.
Despite the substantial losses, the domestic performance within Tata Motors showed quarter-on-quarter improvement, attributed to increased sales volumes and incentive strategies. However, the overarching effect of the JLR cyber incident continued to affect the company's overall financial results.
