Tata Tigor Replacement Gets A New Name: Aeris

Tata Motors is preparing to launch a significantly updated version of its compact sedan, which may arrive with an entirely new name: Tata Aeris. This potential rebranding is supported by a trademark application for 'TATA AERIS' filed for land vehicles. The upcoming model is expected to feature substantial design revisions, including slimmer headlamps and a more upright front end, moving beyond a typical facelift. Interior updates, drawing inspiration from the Tiago facelift, are also anticipated. These could include a larger touchscreen, an updated digital instrument cluster, and enhanced connectivity features. The updated sedan is slated for launch on September 25th. It will likely retain its existing 1.2-litre petrol and factory-fitted CNG powertrains, with an electric variant, the Aeris.ev, also planned. This strategic renaming and refresh aims to boost the model's sales performance, which has lagged behind competitors, by giving it a distinct identity in the market.
