T-Mobile Forces Plan Changes on Old Customers
29 Jun
Summary
- Thousands of T-Mobile customers are being moved to new plans.
- The changes affect legacy Simple Choice and T-Mobile One plans.
- Customers have no option to stay on their current legacy plans.

T-Mobile is initiating a significant migration of thousands of customers from its older, legacy plans to its current offerings. This automatic transition, which began receiving notifications today, impacts subscribers on plans that may be 10 to 15 years old, including Simple Choice and grandfathered Sprint plans. Affected customers, both individuals and some small businesses, will be moved to comparable plans such as Essentials, Experience More, or Experience Beyond within the next few billing cycles.
While T-Mobile assures that the new rates will generally be lower than current market prices for similar plans, some customers may experience an increase. Notably, customers cannot opt out of this migration and must accept the new plan or seek services from another carrier. This move simplifies T-Mobile's systems by eliminating over 1,100 legacy billing codes.
