Sybilla Technologies, a Polish company specializing in space surveillance, has secured an investment of around 35 million zloty (approximately $10 million). The funding comes from the Polish state-owned bank BGK and European venture capital firm 3TS Capital Partners.
This capital infusion is earmarked for significant expansion, including entering the US market and strengthening its presence in Asia and the Middle East. Sybilla Technologies designs, builds, and operates robotic optical observatories to monitor objects in space, supplying data to clients like the European Space Agency and national space agencies.
The company currently operates a network of 50 optical sensors globally and plans to double this fleet to 100 by the end of 2026. This expansion will allow for continuous monitoring of 90% of orbiting objects.
CEO Piotr Sybilski stated the funds will also support developing orbital sensors, commercializing services, and reinforcing the defense sector. Sybilla Technologies aims to build sovereign European capabilities for space situational awareness, crucial for security and commercial operations amid accelerating orbital activity.
