- Food was manufactured in unhygienic conditions, risking contamination.
- Significant pest infestation and poor sanitation were observed.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the license of Switz Foods Pvt. Ltd. due to critical violations of food safety regulations at its manufacturing facility. This action was taken on August 1, 2026, following an inspection that revealed serious non-compliances.
The inspection found that food products were being manufactured, packed, and stored under unhygienic conditions. These conditions posed a high risk of contamination and compromised overall food safety, leading to the license suspension.
Further details indicated unsatisfactory overall cleaning and sanitation across various areas, including the crate washing area and reception area. Equipment and machinery were not adequately cleaned, and significant pest infestation, such as flies and fruit flies, was noted on walls and floors.
Raw materials and semi-finished products were not properly covered, and dustbins lacked proper lids. The company also failed to maintain proper segregation between raw and finished products, as well as between vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.
Switz Foods has been instructed to immediately cease all food business activities. The company must rectify all identified deficiencies and comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, to the satisfaction of the competent authority before resuming operations.
