1 Jul
Summary
- Krafton settled a legal dispute with Subnautica 2 developer Unknown Worlds.
- Studio staff will receive bonuses previously in question.
- Subnautica 2's early access launch exceeded four million copies sold.

A legal battle between Krafton and its subsidiary Unknown Worlds Entertainment, the creators of Subnautica 2, has concluded with a mutual settlement. The dispute originated last year when Krafton removed studio co-founders and its CEO, preceding a substantial bonus payout tied to financial achievements. A judge had previously reinstated the CEO in March, paving the way for Subnautica 2's early access release in May.
The early access version of Subnautica 2 achieved remarkable success, selling over four million copies within its first five days. As part of the settlement, all Unknown Worlds staff will now receive bonuses. These payouts will be distributed over three annual installments. The studio's CEO, however, will be departing, with both parties citing a mutual agreement that new leadership is best for the studio's future.
