Summary
- Sterlite Technologies saw buying interest from both FIIs and DIIs.
- The company is transitioning to digital connectivity solutions.
- Sterlite Technologies reported a return to profitability in FY26.

In a rare market move, Sterlite Technologies Limited has attracted significant buying interest from both foreign and domestic institutional investors during the April-June quarter. This comes as FIIs have been net sellers overall, while DIIs have aggressively purchased domestic stocks. Sterlite Technologies is undergoing a strategic transition, aiming to evolve from a leading optical fiber cable manufacturer into a comprehensive digital connectivity solutions provider, particularly focusing on AI data centers.
This strategic shift includes launching an AI-focused connectivity portfolio named Neuralis in the US market and developing advanced fiber technologies like multi-core and hollow core fiber. The company's management anticipates this transition will boost its market share in North America and Europe. Sterlite Technologies also reported a return to profitability in FY26, with a net profit of Rs 56 crore, a notable turnaround from previous losses.
The company's order flow has also doubled, with fresh orders worth ₹7,687 crore received during FY26 and a substantial multi-year contract valued at $1.11 billion from a hyperscale partner. Despite a relatively higher Enterprise Value/EBITDA compared to industry peers, the dual investor confidence suggests a positive outlook for Sterlite's future growth and execution of its digital transformation strategy.
