Star Air, the aviation arm of Sanjay Ghodawat Group, has received the 'Best Airline - Regional/UDAN Connectivity' award at Wings India 2026 in Hyderabad. Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, presented the award, acknowledging Star Air's role in enhancing regional air connectivity and aligning with the UDAN vision. This recognition celebrates Star Air's commitment to 'Connecting Real India' by bringing air travel to underserved areas and fostering economic growth.
Capt. Simran Singh Tiwana, CEO of Star Air, expressed his honor, stating the award reflects the airline's impact on communities. The airline has completed six years of operations, having transported close to 3 million passengers. Currently operating 455 weekly flights, Star Air plans to increase this to 550 flights in the upcoming summer season.
Star Air is expanding its network beyond UDAN routes to include select commercial city pairs, focusing on connecting Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The airline is known for its complimentary hot meals and beverages, and its Embraer E175 fleet offers a premium travel experience with a two-class cabin. Star Air continues to focus on network expansion and enhancing customer experience in India's growing regional aviation sector.
