Stanley Black & Decker has appointed Agustin Lopez Diaz as its global chief supply chain officer, commencing December 15. Lopez Diaz brings extensive experience, having previously overseen supply chain operations for a major energy technology company. He will be responsible for the toolmaker's comprehensive global supply chain strategy and operations.
This leadership change occurs after the previous chief supply chain officer departed in May, now serving as a senior advisor. Despite this transition, Stanley Black & Decker reported a significant adjusted gross margin in the third quarter, nearing its target, attributed to enhanced supply chain efficiencies.
The company is strategically reducing its reliance on China for U.S. supply, planning to decrease it to below 5% by the end of 2026. This involves shifting sourcing and production, primarily to Mexico, to bolster supply chain resilience and achieve financial objectives.
