Plans have been submitted for the demolition of a block of buildings on Commercial Road in St Sampson. Victory Construction, via Arctech Freelance Architecture, proposes to replace the existing structures with 11 new residential flats. This significant redevelopment also includes plans for new hospitality units.
A café is envisioned for the ground floor, situated on The Bridge where the RNLI shop currently stands. Above this, a restaurant is planned, promising picturesque views across St Sampson's Harbour. This initiative is seen as a crucial step in completing and enhancing The Bridge area.
Martin Search, owner of Ray & Scott Jewellers on The Bridge, expressed enthusiasm for the proposals, calling them "quite exciting for this area." He emphasized the significant financial investment and personal passion behind the project, aiming to bring The Bridge "up to scratch again" and complement other potential developments like Leale's Yard.
