SpaceX IPO Filing Reveals $1.75T Valuation Plans

SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, has made its Initial Public Offering (IPO) filing public, targeting a valuation of $1.75 trillion and planning to list on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker "SPCX." This move positions SpaceX as one of the most valuable publicly traded companies. The filing details a company that has evolved significantly beyond its initial focus on reusable rockets, now encompassing satellites and artificial intelligence, with its long-term mission to become a multi-planetary species remaining central.

Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet service, is currently the company's primary revenue driver, accounting for over half of its total revenue last year, which exceeded $18 billion. Despite significant losses since inception, including approximately $4.9 billion in 2025, the company is making ambitious projections, identifying a total addressable market of $28.5 trillion, largely driven by AI applications. SpaceX is also heavily investing in its AI division, XAI, which houses the chatbot Grok, directing substantial capital despite its recent losses.

A significant portion of SpaceX's future success hinges on the Starship program. This fully reusable heavy-lift rocket is expected to begin payload delivery to orbit in the second half of 2026, a critical milestone for deploying Starlink and future satellite generations. Beyond satellite launches, Starship is envisioned for Mars exploration, orbital AI data centers, and even terrestrial transportation. The company projects Starship could reduce the cost of reaching orbit by over 99%, a development critical to its ambitious goals of lunar and Martian exploration and establishing permanent colonies.
