Solana Sees Record Activity, Summer Surge Possible?
13 Jul
Summary
- Solana processed over 1 billion non-vote transactions weekly.
- Active wallet addresses surged to 29.7 million recently.
- New stablecoin launch could bring billions to the network.

Solana has achieved a significant milestone, processing over 1 billion non-vote transactions in the week ending July 6. This surge in activity coincides with a dramatic increase in user engagement, with weekly active wallet addresses climbing from 16.8 million to 29.7 million over the preceding two weeks. This growth has fueled speculation among investors about a potential resurgence of its 2021 "Solana Summer" rally.
The chain's momentum is largely attributed to its rapidly expanding ecosystem of tokenized assets, now valued at approximately $3.3 billion. Notably, Solana handles about 97% of on-chain tokenized stock trading volume. The upcoming launch of Open USD (OUSD), a new stablecoin backed by over 140 financial institutions, is expected to further bolster Solana's position, potentially bringing billions in new capital inflows.
However, a significant caveat exists regarding Solana's tokenomics. While the network burns a portion of transaction fees, the low fee structure means only a small fraction of new coin issuance is offset. This minimal coin burn relative to total supply suggests that on-chain activity alone may not drive substantial upside for token holders in the near term.
