SK Hynix Explores US Chip Production Amid Intel Talks

SK Hynix Inc. is actively exploring strategies to bolster its international competitiveness, amidst speculation of a potential collaboration with Intel Corp. for semiconductor manufacturing in the United States.

Reports indicated that SK Hynix might lease a portion of Intel's proposed chipmaking facility in Ohio. Alternatively, a joint venture involving Intel and major cloud computing companies was also suggested.

The South Korean memory chipmaker has stated that no concrete decisions have been reached concerning any partnership or memory chip production within the US.

Intel has reaffirmed its commitment to its Ohio investments while declining to comment on the specific reports. US Commerce Secretary has previously urged Asian chipmakers to expand their US production to address global shortages.
