Siltronic Beats Expectations Amid AI Demand Boost
3 Feb
Summary
- Siltronic's Q4 core profit and revenue surpassed market forecasts.
- AI demand provided support, but price and currency effects hurt.
- 2026 outlook remains challenging with mixed wafer demand.

German semiconductor wafer supplier Siltronic announced preliminary fourth-quarter financial results, revealing that its core profit and revenue outperformed market predictions. The company highlighted that demand impulses, significantly driven by artificial intelligence, bolstered its performance.
Despite these positive drivers, Siltronic noted that adverse price effects and the weakening U.S. dollar continued to pose challenges to its business environment. Looking ahead to 2026, the company anticipates a difficult market landscape. While demand for its newer 300mm wafers is expected to rise, demand for more mature 200mm silicon is projected to remain subdued.
Preliminary fourth-quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) reached 86 million euros, with sales at 372 million euros. These figures exceeded analyst expectations. The company also mentioned the recent closure of one of its 150mm wafer plants, which will impact future earnings alongside the pull-in of orders into the final quarter of 2025.
