The Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple has concluded its Mandala Pooja season, welcoming a remarkable 30.56 lakh devotees and accumulating Rs 332.77 crore in revenue. This figure represents a substantial increase from the previous season's earnings.
The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president highlighted the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage, despite some initial confusion, and noted improvements in the 'annadanam' system. Efforts are being made to address devotee concerns regarding 'aravana prasadam'.
As the temple closes for the Mandala season on Saturday night, preparations are underway for the Makaravilakku festival. The shrine will reopen on December 30, with a buffer stock of 12 lakh tins of 'aravana prasadam' planned to meet demand.
