Luxembourg-based Innovation Platform Capital (iPC) has put forth a substantial investment proposal of Rs 83,480 crore in Karnataka, to be implemented across three distinct phases. This significant financial commitment focuses on developing digital infrastructure, renewable energy, and green hydrogen. The project aims to establish an integrated green hydrogen and hyperscale data centre platform in the Bengaluru-Tumakuru region.
The initial phase of this ambitious venture will see an investment of Rs 17,114 crore. This first stage includes the development of 400 MW of data centre capacity and a 500 MW green hydrogen and power complex. The company has requested 1,000 acres of land for these facilities, with allocations for data centres, the green power complex, and necessary buffer zones.
The project's water requirements are estimated at 13 million litres per day, with a focus on sourcing from treated industrial effluent. A notable aspect of the proposal is the company's plan to recycle 80-85 percent of the water used, minimizing reliance on borewell water, which will serve only as a backup.
