11 Jun
Summary
- Robinhood now routes prediction contracts via Rothera.
- Rothera exchange built with Susquehanna International Group.
- Rothera aims to rival Kalshi in prediction markets.

Robinhood's prediction market aspirations are gaining traction with the operationalization of Rothera, a regulated exchange created in collaboration with Susquehanna International Group. This initiative marks a significant step as Robinhood begins routing its prediction market products, starting with World Cup event contracts, through Rothera. The platform was established following Robinhood's joint venture announcement in November 2025 and the acquisition of MIAXdx, a CFTC-licensed derivatives exchange, which closed in January 2026.
Rothera provides Robinhood with direct control over its prediction market infrastructure, encompassing contract listings, liquidity, pricing, and customer experience. This integration allows for improved pricing for users and lays the groundwork for future product innovation. JB Mackenzie, Robinhood's General Manager and Vice President of Futures and International, highlighted the benefits, stating it offers better pricing and a foundation for more innovative products, underscoring the growing importance of prediction markets as financial tools.
