Robinhood Unlocks 24/7 Stock Trading on Weekends

Robinhood has announced the expansion of its trading services to include 24/7 access on weekends for select US stocks and exchange-traded funds. This initiative, developed in partnership with Bruce ATS, aims to democratize trading tools usually reserved for sophisticated financial firms.

The online brokerage's vice president of product management highlighted a focus on providing active traders with advanced capabilities. Since 2023, Robinhood has offered round-the-clock trading during weekdays, with approximately 25% of daily volume occurring outside traditional hours.

In addition to weekend trading, Robinhood is introducing new features through collaborations. A partnership with Cboe will allow users to wager on corporate earnings metrics, and another will enable trading of perpetual futures. The company is also integrating AI agents for automated trading and rolling out a social platform similar to WallStreetBets.
