Renault has unveiled the Niagara, a new lifestyle pickup truck designed to bolster its presence outside of Europe. This double-cab model is scheduled to launch in South America, starting with Brazil in November 2026. It will initially be available in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, powered by a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine.
The Niagara utilizes the Renault Group Modular Platform, shared with the Duster, but adopts styling cues from the larger Boreal SUV. It will offer a six-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic transmission. The top-tier 'Outsider' version will include all-wheel drive, a feature absent in its predecessor in the Brazilian market.
Inside, the cabin echoes the Boreal's design, featuring a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated Google services. Advanced driver-assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, are also part of the package.
Looking ahead, Renault plans to introduce hybrid powertrains to its Brazilian lineup from 2027, with the Niagara expected to be among the first recipients. This move is strategic, aiming to meet market demand for electrified vehicle options.
