Renault has unveiled its Futuready strategy, a long-term plan focused on launching 36 new models across its brands by 2030. The company aims to become a leading European car manufacturer by embracing new technologies and expanding its international presence.
A core element is the new RGEV Medium 2.0 electric vehicle architecture, designed to enhance efficiency, range, and digital capabilities. This platform will underpin updated versions of the Renault Scenic and Rafale, potentially offering up to 466 miles of electric range.
The strategy also emphasizes software-defined vehicles, with approximately 90% of functions digitally controlled and updated over the air, in collaboration with Google using Android-based software. Future vehicles could evolve into AI-defined cars, with artificial intelligence managing various systems.
Renault's group will introduce 22 models for Europe, including 14 EVs, and 14 models targeting international markets. The Bridger concept, a compact SUV developed in India, previews a production model for markets in Africa and the Middle East.
Additionally, the R-Space Lab concept showcases future family car designs, including potential successors to the Espace, featuring modular interiors and advanced technology like steer-by-wire. Dacia will expand its C-segment offerings with the upcoming Striker estate.
To support this expansion, Renault is investing in new electric motors, battery technologies, and AI-driven production methods. These advancements aim to cut development costs by up to 40% and improve responsiveness to market changes.
