The 'Regenerative Mustard Model Farm' program, a joint effort by the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) and partners, has demonstrated substantial success in improving mustard cultivation across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana. Implemented over 3,000 acres through 3,000 frontline demonstration plots during the 2025-26 rabi season, the initiative showcased how sustainable practices enhance productivity and farm resilience.
Rajasthan saw a remarkable 30% yield increase, from 1,853 kg/ha to 2,409 kg/ha, alongside a benefit-cost ratio improvement from 2.6 to 4. Haryana also reported a 30% yield rise (1,900 kg/ha to 2,470 kg/ha) and a better benefit-cost ratio of 4.8. Madhya Pradesh experienced a 20.5% yield boost, with its benefit-cost ratio improving to 3.1.
The SEA has advocated for broader adoption of these practices, urging the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to collaborate on future initiatives. This program, supported by various agribusiness companies, aims to increase domestic oilseed production and reduce import dependency.
