16 Jul
Summary
- TTD recorded highest single-day donation collection ever.
- Nearly Rs 97 crore collected from 2,460 donors.
- Donations surged due to upcoming changes in donor privileges.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has set a new record for its highest single-day donation collection, amassing nearly Rs 97 crore from 2,460 individual donors. This remarkable achievement occurred over a mere 10-hour period.
The surge in donations was directly influenced by TTD's announcement of revised donor privileges, which were slated to take effect from midnight. Devotees rushed to contribute before this deadline to ensure they could retain their existing benefits under the old policy.
Officials reported that the total collection reached Rs 96.98 crore. The majority of these contributions, over 2,354, were made through the official online portal and banking channels, demonstrating a strong preference for digital payment methods among devotees.
Donation amounts varied widely, ranging from Rs 1 lakh to over Rs 1 crore. Two devotees each contributed Rs 1 crore via the TTD online portal before the midnight cutoff. The record collection is attributed to a combination of deep devotee faith and the urgency created by the impending changes in donor benefits.
